An accident in his laboratory transformed Girauld into a powerful creature: his brain was transplanted into a 700 lb gorilla body, augmented with a prosthetic left arm, granting him incredible strength. Unable to return to Parisian society, he roamed the Badlands of the Union, discovering superhuman abilities such as lifting boulders or hurling a man over 30 feet. Joining Warwick Hudson and the 'Soul Hunters' expedition, Mr Ears now studies the megafauna of the Antarctic and builds a new menagerie of wonders.
