The Emperor's Children, the third Legion of Space Marines in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, are a faction marked by an obsessive quest for perfection that has led them to corruption. Under the leadership of their Primarch, Fulgrim, they were initially renowned for their exemplary devotion to the Emperor and their pursuit of excellence both on the battlefield and in the arts and culture. This quest for perfection earned them the unique privilege of wearing the double-headed imperial eagle on their armour, a symbol of their loyalty and distinction.

However, this aspiration to the ideal became their Achilles heel. During the campaign on the planet Laeran, Fulgrim came into possession of a demonic sword that gradually plunged him into the corruption of Slaanesh, the God of Pleasure and Excess. Under the influence of this evil entity, the Emperor's Children sank into hedonism and excess, betraying the Emperor during the Horus Heresy. They distinguished themselves by acts of cruelty and perversion, notably during the massacre of Istvaan V, when Fulgrim killed his primarch brother Ferrus Manus, sealing their definitive downfall.
After the Heresy, the Emperor's Children continued to serve Slaanesh, adopting warfare practices based on depravity and the search for new sensations. Among their most emblematic units are the Noise Marines, warriors equipped with sonic weapons capable of causing mass destruction through sound. These weapons reflect their devotion to Slaanesh by transforming the battlefield into a deadly cacophony. The redesign of this faction, along with new models and lore updates, including the return of Fulgrim in demonic form, has Warhammer 40,000 fans excited.
