The armies of the Maggotkin of Nurgle are known for their toughness and durability, with units such as Pusgoyle Blightlords, Plaguebearers and Nurglings being incredibly resilient and hard to put down. They also have access to powerful magic, able to summon other daemons to the field, and even call upon the blessings of Nurgle to boost their own units. They also have a variety of powerful leaders, such as Great Unclean Ones, Lords of Nurgle and Nurgle's Rotbringers, who can lead the charge and inspire their troops.

In Age of Sigmar, the Maggotkin of Nurgle armies are often played by players who enjoy a slow-paced, defensive playstyle and relish the opportunity to spread diseases and corruption on the battlefield. They are also favored by players who enjoy the lore and theme of the Nurgle's faction, which is often associated with decay, disease and rot. They are also a great option for players who are looking for a resilient army that can sustain a lot of punishment and still keep fighting.
