Making clean, consistent cuts on small-diameter tubing is much easier with the right tool. The Mini Tube Cutter is a compact manual tool designed for tubes and cylindrical pieces measuring from 3 to 22 mm in diameter. It is primarily intended for plastic tubing and can also be used with softer metals such as copper, brass and aluminium.
The cutter uses a rotating cutting wheel positioned between two guide rollers. These rollers help keep the tube stable while the tool is rotated around it, allowing the wheel to progressively score the material. By tightening the adjustment screw gradually between rotations, you can create a clean and continuous groove around the tube before completing the separation.
Its body is made from aluminium alloy, providing a sturdy construction for repeated use. The compact format makes it convenient for modelling, DIY and other projects where small tubes need to be cut to specific lengths. After cutting, any rough edges or burrs can be cleaned up with a file or deburring tool for a neater finish.
How to use it: place the tube between the guide rollers and gently bring the cutting wheel into contact with its surface. Rotate the cutter smoothly around the tube to create a continuous groove. After each full rotation, tighten the adjustment screw slightly and repeat the process. Once the groove is sufficiently deep, gently twist or bend the tube along the scored line to complete the separation.
Please note: this Mini Tube Cutter is not designed to work as a guillotine that completely cuts a tube through in one action. Its purpose is to score and groove the material progressively, after which the tube is separated by hand along the scored line. The cutting wheel will naturally wear with use and should not be treated as a blade intended to sever the entire tube in a single movement.
