Blood of the Bastion (English)

Yao Kai has finally achieved his life's ambition. Appointed Master of the Serpent Gate, he is entrusted with protecting the empire from the horrors that threaten its borders and the lands beyond. Yet his hopes for a fresh start are shattered when he uncovers a Chaos plot designed to bring down the Great Bastion from within.

To save Grand Cathay, Kai must act before the conspiracy succeeds. He is forced to seek allies among former rivals and work alongside members of the very family he had hoped to leave behind. As the threat grows, he must navigate old grievances and uncertain loyalties while defending the empire against an enemy determined to undermine its strongest defences.

In Blood of the Bastion, Evan Dicken explores the burdens of duty, the complications of family ties and the dangers of corruption within a powerful empire. This story offers a closer look at Grand Cathay and its defenders as they face a threat that could destroy the Great Bastion from the inside.
