Unsullied Pikemen

Although classified as a light unit by Westeros standards, the pikemen's phalanx fights in close formation, following ancient battle doctrines. This infantry formation, with its forward-pointing spears and raised shields, is almost impenetrable in the face of a cavalry charge, and even infantry units struggle to penetrate the wall of spikes. Yet despite its solidity, such a unit is vulnerable on its flanks, requiring constant vigilance on the part of an experienced commander to avoid encirclement.
