The Yamabushi were a legendary group of ascetic hermits in the mountains of feudal Japan, renowned for their unrivalled endurance, mastery of the martial arts and spiritual connection with nature. Modern Yamabushi are veterans, rescue workers or ordinary civilians who have chosen a life of solitude and meditation in remote regions. Their deep attachment to the balance of nature and the protection of the innocent remains intact. When a just cause arises, they come out of retirement to defend what they believe in, no matter the consequences.
