The box contains 49 highly detailed snap-fit miniatures: seven heroes accompanied by the sylvan spirit Murmur, major villains Gelgus Pust, Belga the Sorceress, Mulgoth the Cleaver, and Shaman Foulhoof, plus a horde of enemies including 2 Rotbringers, 3 Rust Templars, 8 Pestigors, 14 Plaguebeasts, 6 Swamp Kelpies, and 4 game tokens. A fold-out scenario book provides various adventure theaters, with missions determined by encounter cards and boss cards across three acts, complemented by event cards.

All necessary components are included: hero and enemy cards, rewards, two token sheets, dice, and boxes to store cards and tokens between sessions. A quick-start guide allows the game to begin within minutes, and a 36-page rulebook explains both skirmish and campaign modes. Warhammer Quest: Shadow of the Abyss is part of the regular range and will be restocked quickly if needed.
