Alula

Her key defensive tool is “Surprise Attack”. Once per round, when an enemy unit engages an allied unit within 12 inches, Alula can immediately move into position beside the enemy, inflict the Disarmed status and make an opportunity attack. This gives her a way to intervene when an exposed ally is attacked, disrupting the enemy while bringing Alula directly into the engagement.

Her second ability, “Forward Observer”, makes her valuable well beyond the units immediately around her. Allied units can use line of sight to elements visible to Alula, allowing them to charge, shoot or cast spells against targets that would otherwise be hidden from them. A carefully positioned Alula can therefore expand the tactical options available across the entire army.

Alula is not built around raw combat power. Instead, her strength comes from mobility, positioning and timing. Her MOV 4-4 allows her to establish an advanced observation point and then relocate when another part of the battlefield requires her attention. Keeping vulnerable allies within her defensive range while maintaining useful sightlines is key to making the most of her profile.

Used effectively, Alula creates a protective zone around the units she supports while simultaneously opening new lines of sight for the rest of the army. Her value comes from anticipating where the enemy will strike and placing her there before the decisive engagement takes place.
