Airborne units relied on the same trusted support weapons as the Royal Italian Army: the Breda Modello 37 medium machine gun and the Mortaio da 81/14 Modello 35 81mm mortar. These provided essential fire support, suppressing enemy positions and defending key points with sustained, accurate fire.
