Built to dominate the most challenging urban battlegrounds, the Thor Panzermech is a heavily armoured walker designed to eliminate entrenched infantry with ruthless efficiency. Durable and heavily armed, the Thor fulfills its role so effectively that it has become a feared presence wherever it's deployed.
Although the Zeus often receives the accolades of the German heavy panzermech program, it was the Thor that paved the way. First deployed in April 1946, the Thor was the original Rift-tech-based heavy mech, purpose-built from lessons learned in brutal urban conflicts like Stalingrad, Warsaw, and Brussels. Designed as a mobile pillbox to support infantry in city environments, it set the standard later adapted for the Zeus model.
Armed with a devastating 150mm howitzer capable of leveling buildings and fortified positions, and backed by a 20mm autocannon for protection against infantry and light vehicles, the Thor is engineered for frontline assault. Its comprehensive armor protects it from flanking threats, though it relies on supporting panzer grenadiers to keep close-range enemies at bay. In the rubble-strewn streets of urban warfare, the Thor advances steadily, dismantling enemy defenses one by one. In close quarters, its lack of speed is rarely a disadvantage, making it a formidable asset in the German arsenal for Konflikt '47.
