Pallets

Wet palettes are indispensable tools for artists, particularly those who use acrylic paints. Unlike traditional palettes, they slow down the drying of paint by maintaining constant humidity under the work surface, thanks to a system of semi-permeable paper and water-soaked foam. This process keeps the paint fresh and usable for long periods, avoiding paint wastage and facilitating extended painting sessions.

The operation of the wet pallet is simple: a sponge or hydrophilic foam is placed at the bottom of the pallet, soaked in water. A special semi-permeable paper is placed on top. The paint is then placed on this paper, where the moisture from the foam is transferred without diluting the paint, keeping it wet for longer. This system is ideal for mixing colours and adjusting tints over long periods without worrying about the paint drying out quickly, which is particularly useful in hot or dry environments.

Wet palettes are compatible primarily with water-based paints, such as acrylics, and are used by model painters, miniaturists and artists creating detailed works requiring multiple colour mixes. They are also available in a range of sizes and with accessories such as airtight lids to keep paint fresh for several days.

In short, a wet palette is a practical tool that improves the efficiency of artistic work while reducing paint wastage.
