Martell

House Martell, sovereign of Dorne, bears the full name of "Nymeros Martell", in homage to their ancestor, the Rhoynar queen Nymeria. They retain the title of "prince" or "princess".

The Martells are descended from the Andals and Rhoynars, making them "salty Dornians" with a dark olive complexion. Their main seat is the Martell Palace in Lancehélion, with the Aquatic Gardens as a secondary residence a few leagues from the city.

Prudence is an ancestral virtue among the Martell lords.

Renowned for its resistance to Aegon Targaryen's conquest, Dorne and the Martells of Lancehélion have distinguished themselves in the Seven Kingdoms. Using guerrilla tactics against the Targaryens, they avoided major battles to escape the dragons, inflicting setbacks on enemy armies. House Martell won a major victory by slaying the dragon Meraxes and Queen Rhaenys with a scorpion.

Combat units include infantry (like the Ironborn Reavers), but the Martells do not yet have cavalry, 'Monsters' or siege units.

Characters include Attachments, which reinforce combat units, and Non-Combat Units, which provide political or strategic support. The army's General, who is crucial to its strategy, can be either an Attachment or a NCU, or exceptionally an individual combat unit.
