Flexible metallic paints are designed to maintain adhesion and durability even when the painted surface is bent, flexed, or moved. Unlike standard paints that may crack or flake under stress, these formulations include special additives that enhance flexibility. The Green Stuff World formula is free from latex and vinyl to reduce the risk of allergic reactions, making it suitable for cosplay and modelling materials such as EVA foam, fabric, leather, 3D prints, and latex.
As with all metallic paints, the visual result is significantly improved when applied over a dark base, ideally black. This enhances metallic depth, increases perceived brightness, and strengthens overall contrast. For best results, a flexible black primer is recommended, especially for projects requiring a smooth, opaque, and visually striking finish. Proper surface preparation is essential, including cleaning, light sanding if necessary, and applying a suitable base coat to ensure strong adhesion.
Application should always be done in thin layers, especially the first coat. The initial layer should be light to establish adhesion, followed by subsequent layers applied while the previous one is still slightly “tacky”, meaning not fully dry but already set. Thick applications or heavy build-ups can negatively affect adhesion and cause wrinkling. Proper curing time is essential, with a minimum of 24 hours recommended, or longer depending on layer thickness. Airbrush or spray application allows for extremely thin, even coats, reducing the risk of peeling. Dilution with water or a dedicated acrylic thinner is recommended, particularly for the first layer.
The satin finish provides a balanced effect between matte and gloss, creating a subtle reflectivity that enhances details without exaggeration. This finish is especially suitable for flexible parts as it resists dirt, withstands handling, and is easy to clean. Contents: 1 x 240 ml. Note: these are flexible paints, not elastic ones, and may crack if overstretched. Not recommended on smooth or non-porous surfaces (glass, ceramic, glossy plastic, bare metal, concrete, stone, wood, silicone, or waxed surfaces) without proper priming.
