Mounthaven Supports

The Headhunter identifies its quarry during deployment with “Study the Prey”, allowing it to nominate an enemy unit as its declared target. From there, “Hunt the Prey” provides its attack modifier without costing Stress. “Orichalcum Bullets” makes attacks against the chosen prey particularly difficult to counter, as their successes can only be cancelled with Hollow Blocks.

The Headhunter’s ranged attack can deal direct damage to its declared target while generating additional successes. Its defensive profile is more limited, but Scout and Preferred Terrain provide tools for repositioning and maintaining a useful line of sight. Used carefully, the Headhunter can remain at range while steadily focusing on the enemy unit that matters most.

The Bombardier brings a very different kind of threat. Its “Volcanic Eruption” attack reaches 18 strides and deals 1 damage to every unit within 7 strides of the target. It can also attack without line of sight, allowing it to remain a threat even when terrain or battlefield formations block a direct view. Its “Risgallum Projectiles” further modifies each shot according to the number of troops in the targeted unit, while adding additional Stress whenever the attack causes at least 1 damage.

Together, the Mounthaven Supports provide two complementary forms of ranged pressure: the Headhunter’s focused pursuit and the Bombardier’s wide-reaching artillery fire. Both benefit from thoughtful positioning, particularly given their more limited mobility and comparatively modest combat profiles.
