Working in the merchant navy has always been challenging, but nowadays, it's tougher than ever before! In the past, we'd endure months away from home, the backbreaking work of handling cargo, and the relentless onslaught of harsh weather. I've sadly bid farewell to too many comrades lost at sea, having to bear the burden of delivering the tragic news to their families amidst the tumult of recent years. Our voyages increasingly require military escorts to safeguard against sky pirates and similar threats. I've encountered colossal mechanical squid in the Bay of Bengal, faced assaults by massive hovering steel discs in the South Atlantic, and even witnessed enormous metal figures soaring across the Mediterranean skies."
"Make no mistake, being an honest sailor is becoming increasingly arduous. I'm growing weary of this chaos!"
Excerpt from an interview with Able Seaman Richard Miggins for the Freeport Gazette.
