W’adrhŭn : Quatl

Hovering on the thermal currents above the oases of the Desolate Lands, the Quatl captured the imagination of the W'adrhun from the very beginning. Unfortunately, the process of bonding and domesticating these fearsome beasts is a laborious one, and must begin as soon as they hatch, when the Quatl becomes imbued with the first living being it identifies as its ‘mother’. Countless Braves have met a tragic end trying to tame adolescent Quatls, torn apart by enraged parents or by the beast itself. Once the secret of impregnation had been discovered, the number of Quatl riders increased, but the scarcity of healthy eggs curbed this growth. Unwilling to risk these precious creatures in battle, the ingenious riders learnt to take advantage of the Quatl's speed, flying over the battlefield at full speed to pierce their defenceless prey with their custom harpoons. Enemies that don't die instantly from the violent impact often succumb to the shock, and even larger creatures risk being maimed or killed by a well-placed harpoon.  

Fighting style:

Like birds of prey, the Quatl flies over the battlefield as a long-range W'adrhun operator, tracking enemies and strategic areas before diving in to finish off committed opponents, neutralise isolated Regiments from a distance or prevent an enemy from holding an Objective Zone.
