While the armored knights of the Panzer divisions often stole the glory, the infantry formed the backbone of the Wehrmacht. Germany’s cunning Blitzkrieg tactics swept through Poland, the Low Countries, and France, before turning eastward towards the Soviet Union. In a relentless offensive, Hitler’s landsers pushed Soviet forces all the way to Moscow.

Well-led, superbly trained, and armed with some of the finest infantry weapons of the war, the German soldier was a skilled and dangerous opponent. Their ability to think independently when necessary gave them a tactical edge over their foes. Vorwärts!
