American War of Independence – Woodland Indians War Party
For Native American nations, the American War of Independence presented a difficult and complex situation. Viewed in many cases as a civil war between colonial powers, the conflict forced tribes and confederacies to decide whether to remain neutral, defend their lands, or align with one of the competing sides. Long-standing alliances, diplomatic promises, trade agreements and local rivalries all influenced these decisions.
Most Indigenous groups ultimately sided with the British, who provided arms and supplies in exchange for their support in harassing American forces and frontier settlements. This contributed to a more brutal and irregular aspect of the war, as raids and counter-raids increasingly targeted both military positions and civilian farms. Armed with muskets, tomahawks and extensive knowledge of the terrain, Native war parties excelled in woodland warfare, ambushes and hit-and-run tactics, though they typically did not form part of the main battle line and could be vulnerable in set-piece engagements.
This boxed set allows players to field a Woodland Indian war party in Black Powder. The multi-pose figures offer a wide range of weapon and equipment options, enabling the creation of varied and characterful units. The included background guide provides historical context and assembly information to support both modelling and gameplay.
