American War of Independence – Artillery Set
In Europe, massed artillery was becoming an increasingly dominant feature of warfare, often shaping the outcome of major battles. In North America, however, its use was more limited due to factors such as cost, availability, and terrain. Despite these constraints, artillery was still present in most engagements of the American War of Independence and provided essential support to both sides.
Field guns, whether light or medium, were operated by dedicated crews who delivered effective fire at range using solid shot, or devastating close-range volleys with case shot filled with musket balls. This boxed set allows players to field either Continental Army gunners or British Royal Artillery crews, making it suitable for representing both sides of the conflict.
The set also includes additional characterful elements such as the legendary “Molly Pitcher,” mounted commanders with multiple head options, and casualty figures to enhance narrative play. These components allow players to recreate iconic battlefield moments and add depth to their Black Powder scenarios.
