The fight for Westeros

A Song of Ice & Fire: The Miniatures Game is a competitive game for at least 2 players. Each player controls one of the Great Houses of Westeros, commanding units on the battlefield, recruiting Legendary Heroes and manoeuvring on the political stage to conquer the greatest trophy of all: A Song of Ice & Fire. The Basic Box offers the chance to lead House Stark or House Lannister with over 100 pre-assembled miniatures ready to play! The sculptures are based on original illustrations designed by the Cool Mini or Not graphics team, supervised by George R.R. Martin and Dark Sword Miniatures, to give fans what they've been waiting for for years.

An accessible game

The game system is fluid and simple. On the battlefield, there are 5 possible orders: Manoeuvre, March, Withdrawal, Attack and Charge. Behind the scenes, there are 5 ways to influence the conflict: Crown, Wealth, Tactics, Combat and Manoeuvre. With figureheads like Jaime Lannister, Gregor 'The Mountain' Clegane, Robb Stark and Lard-Jon Omble on the front line, and manipulators like Sansa and Catelyn Stark, Cersei and Tyron Lannister in the shadows, the game offers 5 modes of play.

Each round is divided into two phases, activation and maintenance.

Players take it in turns to activate any of their units that have not yet acted this turn. Units can manoeuvre, march, withdraw, attack or charge. Activation can also be accompanied by Tactical cards with various effects. Each side has its own deck of Tactics cards, as well as those specific to their leader. If a non-combatant unit is activated, it can take control of a free space on the strategy board and use its strategic capability, as well as its own skill. Once all the units have acted, we move on to the maintenance phase: calculating victory points, removing miniatures from the strategy board, renewing tactical cards, checking victory conditions, etc.
