The Union fleet has undergone a series of significant technological enhancements since the defection of Nikolai Tesla from the Imperium, culminating in a marked overall improvement since the conclusion of the Ore War. Support Cruisers and Automata, subjects of innovation by the creative minds at The Pipeworks, have all been upgraded to enhance their performance. The Washington Missile Cruiser takes on the role of bolstering the battlefleet's long-range firepower while offering additional protection against hostile aircraft. Armed with Kettering pattern cruise missiles, the crew of Washington-class vessels frequently utilizes observation rotors and fighter squadron spotters to ensure precise delivery of the lethal payload.
The Roanoke Strike Carriers play a pivotal role in providing air support to fleets to which they are attached. These Cruisers employ potent electromagnetic catapults to rapidly launch Corsair strike fighters into the heat of battle, making the Roanoke carrier an invaluable asset within the Union fleet. The class's name pays homage to the Union naval base on Roanoke Island, which met its tragic demise in 1862 during the Ore War.
Last but not least, the crews of Montgomery support ships are renowned for their ability to work miracles and are always a welcome addition to any battlefleet. Scores of repair teams, equipped with a combination of flight gear and escort craft, undertake repair operations and rescue missions for friendly vessels in distress. These ships are also equipped to provide field repairs to the towering RC-52 Patriot Automata, designed by the brilliant theoretical engineers at The Pipeworks. These automatons are the largest in the Union's military, and like their smaller counterparts, they develop unique quirks in their adaptive computations over time, giving veteran Automata distinctive personalities.
