Hundred Kingdoms: Imperial Rangers

The Imperial Ranger Corps was born in the early years of the Tellian Empire when its expansion gave the imperial family more land than it could reasonably and safely manage. A group of forestry experts was hired to explore, record and protect this land. After the fall of the Empire, successive Chamberlains strengthened and expanded the role of the Imperial Rangers, given their intimate knowledge not only of the lands of the Imperial Houses, but also of all the surrounding lands, making them the formidable force they are today, as much at home on the battlefield as in the woods.
