Spires: Assault Preceptor (Officer)

The preceptors are a creation of the Directorate. Originally conceived as a front-line unit to replace the Vanguard strain, whose combat skills were based on coordination and reaction, they were withdrawn citing the very resource-intensive training process they required to be considered combat-ready. Of course, it could be argued, the Sovereign would not look kindly on a structured, well-coordinated fighting force capable of independent thought and communication either. Reluctant to waste resources, the Directorate reallocated the project, introducing lead preceptors into the Vanguard's clone formations to increase their coordination and cohesion.
