Chindit Section
During the brutal Japanese offensives of 1941 and 1942, British forces in the Far East suffered significant defeats, leading many to view the Japanese soldier as nearly unstoppable in the dense tropical jungles. However, Brigadier Orde Wingate believed otherwise and set out to prove that the Empire could strike back, deep behind enemy lines.
Wingate organized special units of British, Indian, and Burmese troops known as Chindits. These long-range penetration columns launched daring raids where the Japanese least expected them—disrupting supply lines, railways, and communications. Elite regiments such as the King’s Liverpool Rifles and the Gurkhas were handpicked and trained to endure punishing jungle marches and face ferocious combat. Operating far from support, the men carried everything they needed on their backs and relied on air-dropped supplies when available.
This box set includes 10 metal miniatures representing a typical Chindit section: one NCO with a rifle, a two-man Bren gun team, and seven riflemen. Perfect for adding a new tactical layer to your Bolt Action games, these figures depict one of the most daring units of the Burma Campaign. Models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Plastic bases included.
