As Allied armies pushed across Europe, effective anti-tank weapons became an essential part of every infantry formation. The 57mm M1 anti-tank gun, introduced into US Army service in 1943, quickly became the standard American anti-tank gun and saw extensive action throughout Italy and the campaigns of Northwest Europe.
Derived from the proven British QF 6-pounder design, the 57mm M1 combined reliability, mobility, and a rapid rate of fire. Its relatively compact size allowed crews to reposition and conceal the weapon with ease, making it a valuable battlefield asset despite the increasing armour protection of late-war enemy tanks.
This detailed plastic kit recreates one of the most widely used American anti-tank guns of the Second World War. The model offers flexible assembly options and can also be built as the British QF 6-pounder, making it a versatile addition to multiple Allied collections.
On the tabletop, the 57mm M1 serves as a Medium Anti-Tank Gun within Artillery Platoons and can be towed by most eligible vehicles. It provides commanders with a reliable and cost-effective way to strengthen their anti-armour capabilities while maintaining historical accuracy.
Supplied unassembled and unpainted, this kit combines modelling flexibility, historical authenticity, and battlefield utility, making it an excellent addition to any US Army Bolt Action force.
