Re-equipped with the new M43 uniform following the D-Day landings, the US Airborne were ready to tackle some of their greatest challenges of the war – Operation Market Garden and the Ardennes Offensive.
Airborne units relied heavily on the support weapons they could take into battle. The 81mm M1 and 60mm M2 mortars provided valuable indirect firepower, while the M1 Bazooka gave the paratroopers a fighting chance against enemy armor.
