Us Marine Corps M3a1 37mm Anti-tank Gun
A strategic asset against armored vehicles!
Introduced in 1940, the 37mm Gun M3 became the standard US anti-tank weapon due to its size, enabling it to be towed by a jeep. However, the continuing improvement of German tanks quickly rendered this gun ineffective. By 1943, it was gradually replaced in the European and Mediterranean theatres by the more powerful 57mm Gun M1, developed by the British.
In the Pacific, where the Japanese tank threat was less significant, the M3 remained effective. Its light weight made it easy to move through difficult terrain. It first saw action during the defense of the Philippines in December 1941, and its ease of use allowed it to remain in service with the Marine Corps and some Army units in the Pacific until the end of the war.
In Bolt Action, this 37mm gun can be included in Artillery Platoons and is classified as a Light Anti-tank gun, which can be towed by most vehicles, including Jeeps.
