W’adrhun : Chieftain

Although civil divisions and council governance may suffice for the management of a village on a daily basis, the Ukunfazane understood that her unruly people would require a firm grip on the reins when they ventured into war. This gave rise to the role of the Chieftain: chosen from the ranks of the wisest and most experienced W'adrhŭn fighters and positioned outside of the village's hierarchy. Chieftains possess authority solely within the context of a military raid or campaign, but their power is absolute in those settings.
