Nothing better illustrates the Spires' approach to warfare than the Catabolic Node. Every drone contains the latent genetic code to become a Catabolic Node. With its twisted body bubbling with toxic gases and corrosive vital fluids, a Catabolic Node is so unstable that they are only created on the eve of battle. We shudder to think what might happen if the Spires found a way to stabilise these deadly sacrificial troops.
