When the Totenkorps first appeared on the battlefields of France in 1944, panic and terror swept through Commonwealth forces. Every advance became a nightmare, as any village, field, or woodland might conceal the corpses of the living dead. These horrors could lie dormant until the frontline passed over them, only to rise and strike at vulnerable rear areas, or simply tear apart anything that ventured too close.

Commonwealth troops soon learned that dogs were able to detect the hidden threat. However, the sheer terror inspired by the Totenkorps often drove these animals into uncontrollable fear, making them unreliable in combat situations. In response, the controversial scientist Dr William Sargant advocated the creation of Cerberus units: dogs surgically and chemically altered to suppress their fear instincts and function in the most harrowing conditions.

Cerberus units are widely regarded as a mixed blessing. While their potential effectiveness is acknowledged, some regiments steadfastly refuse to deploy them due to ethical concerns and operational risks. This miniature adds a dark and compelling narrative element to any Commonwealth force, reflecting the extreme measures taken in the face of unnatural enemies. The set contains one metal handler and three metal war dogs, supplied unassembled and unpainted.
