Advanced research into automated systems has progressed at an unexpected rate, with production struggling to keep pace with new designs emerging from Bletchley Park. Less than a year after the first deployment of Mk I Automated Infantry in Belgium, fully automated platoons are increasingly organized and commanded independently by automated platoon leaders.
These “Automated Directors” are based on the Mk II design, featuring improved computational and radio systems that allow them to distribute orders to other automated units across a wider radius. The advantages of fully automated platoons are numerous: avoidance of British human casualties and immunity to the increasingly deleterious psychological effects on the battlefield. However, Automated Directors lack the imagination of human commanders and are limited to executing the tactics and orders pre-programmed by British engineers prior to battle.
The box contains one plastic miniature, supplied with plastic base and assembly guide.
