Using the most advanced engineering techniques, and under the direct supervision of Empress Shinzua herself, immense automata shaped like giant squids have been successfully developed. The instruction cylinders controlling these submerged creations are among the most complex ever produced, rivalled only by those found within Enlightened fleets.

Encounters with these mechanical leviathans have quickly become the stuff of dark maritime legends. Survivors speak of them only when safely ashore, refusing to discuss them at sea for fear of invoking the wrath of the Ika.
