Among the numerous Battleships sailing the seas over the past half-century, the Britannia Class of the Crown has long held the reputation as the most imposing—until the Empire introduced the Kongo Class Heavy Battleship. Unquestionably one of the most lethal warships in the Dystopian Age, the Kongo is manned by elite Japanese sailors renowned for their skill. The architects of this colossal vessel focused on maximizing its armor without compromising speed and agility, showcasing the pinnacle of Japanese naval engineering. Bearing the name of a legendary mountain in Osaka Prefecture, this ship aptly lives up to its moniker. With thick armor plating and formidable armaments, the Kongo class stands as the pride of the Japanese fleet.

The accompanying cruisers in Battlefleets alongside the Kongo exhibit a diverse range. From the imposing Hokkaido Heavy Cruiser to the agile Kanagawa Monitor, there exists a cruiser variant tailored for every mission. Japanese Cruiser groups typically include Chita Submersible Automata, mechanical marvels on par with the creations of the Covenant of the Enlightened. These automatons safeguard the fleet against underwater threats and contribute to assaults. While the Chita operate independently for extended periods, they lack the endurance of the larger Kaiju class automata. Ishikawa strike cruisers and Yamaguchi Attack Cruisers play a crucial role in supporting these escorts far from drydocks, utilizing their moon pools for Chita repairs and refueling.

Okinawa and Miyagi Class Cruisers carry limited reconnaissance aircraft for spotting and minimal aerial defense. In pressing situations, they perform bombing runs on enemy shipping, usually with support from other aerial units.

For patrolling between their distant islands, the Japanese prefer Kyoto frigates, perfectly suited for the task. New sailors often undergo their first naval experiences aboard a Kyoto, steeped in the proud traditions of the Blazing Sun.
