GreenStuffWorld synthetic brushes are handmade. They are very similar to natural bristle brushes, but are better suited to less experienced painters or techniques requiring less watery mediums.
They are ideal for single-stroke techniques and, in general, for any technique requiring the application of thin paint. On the other hand, synthetic brushes are less effective in very diluted media. For these techniques, we recommend using Kolinsky brushes with natural bristles.
Compared with natural-hair brushes, synthetic brushes require less maintenance to maintain their shape. They absorb less water and paint, making them less suitable for washing techniques, enamels, inks and gradients.
To prolong the life of your brushes, it is advisable to reshape the bristles after each use and prevent the paint from drying between the bristles. After use, let them rest with the tip upwards to avoid any deformation. Good maintenance will ensure that your brushes last a long time.
Flat brushes are useful for mixing and blending, creating rust and dirt effects. The synthetic fibres are designed to withstand the toughest paint products.
