Dark Ages Hut

Also known as sunken-featured buildings or pit houses, Grubenhäuser were used across Europe for centuries. Built over a partially excavated floor and typically featuring an A-frame structure, they could serve as homes, workshops or storage spaces. Their distinctive appearance makes them particularly suitable for recreating settlements from the Dark Ages.

Each of the three huts can be assembled with a different combination of components. The kit includes front and rear wall options in wattle and daub, wooden planks or logs, along with four alternative door designs. Three thatched roofs provide the main covering, while optional side shelters, log wall supports and wooden roof weights add further variety. These interchangeable details make it possible to create a small settlement without every building looking identical.

Each hut measures 12cm long, 8.5cm wide and 6.7cm high. The set is particularly well suited to Pillage, as well as historical miniature wargames and fantasy settings that call for medieval-inspired scenery.
