The box contains 104 animals, offering plenty of variety for farms, villages and narrative objectives. The miniatures can be used as livestock to capture during raids, scenario objectives or simply as scenic details across a historical or fantasy gaming table.

The designs are informed by research into livestock found between the 8th and 12th centuries. Modern breeds have been extensively shaped through selective breeding for meat and milk production, so the aim here was to find historical or closely related references that could better represent the animals of the period.

The sheep are based on the Jacob sheep, a small and hardy breed suited to the wet climate of Western Europe. The goats draw inspiration from an ancient English primitive breed dating back thousands of years, while the horses take their cues from a Breton breed, known for its powerful build and suitability for agricultural work.

The cattle are inspired by the Highland cow, a compact and resilient animal capable of withstanding harsh winters. The pigs required particularly careful research, as medieval pigs were generally closer in appearance to wild boar, with longer snouts, longer legs and heavier hair. The set therefore includes a family of pig miniatures based on heritage-breeding references closer to these older forms.
