Treasure & Chests

The set contains 45 treasures and art objects alongside 24 chests, giving you a substantial selection of pieces to scatter across your gaming table. The chests and boxes come in different sizes and designs, with details based on archaeological finds from Birka, Hedeby, Mastermyr and Oseberg, including period-inspired rivets, hinges and locking mechanisms.

The collection goes well beyond simple containers. It includes crosses, chalices, Bibles, candlesticks, carved wooden panels and richly decorated objects that can represent religious treasures, valuable possessions or the contents of an important household.

Several pieces draw directly on surviving historical examples. Among them are a Carolingian-inspired inlaid Bible, a wooden panel and an ornate casket, alongside a 9th-century Irish cross reflecting the renowned craftsmanship of early Irish silversmiths. An Anglo-Saxon casket decorated with saints and goblets inspired by 9th- and 10th-century examples add further variety.

Where surviving references were more limited, such as with the candlesticks, later medieval influences have been combined with subtle Byzantine touches to create designs that remain consistent with the visual character of the period.

Use the contents as scenario objectives, treasure markers or atmospheric scenery. Spread the pieces throughout a settlement, place valuable objects inside a defended building or create a tempting prize for raiders to fight over.
