Peculiar saucer-like objects streaked through the sky, emitting beams of light that sliced through the Crown frigates effortlessly. Grateful for the safeguard of their Guardian generators shielding his large battleship, James noted the vulnerable vessels on the outskirts of the skirmish lacking such protection. The smaller saucers exhibited an almost uncanny agility, swiftly maneuvering to locate new targets before the Crown's naval vessels could react. Some released fighters now buzzing high above his head.

The Ordinary Seaman observed one of the larger disc-shaped flyers approaching, realizing its immense size in comparison to his own craft. Suddenly, a vivid ray of energy, tinged with green, pierced the Guardian shield above him without warning. The fighters exploded, their destruction rippling through the Guardian field, overwhelming it. The cacophony of combat now pounded in the Ordinary Seaman’s ears, no longer dulled by the Guardian field. James Spigot's final sight was numerous metallic spheres cascading from a hatch in the underside of the larger saucer. His final act was to pray.
