The Imperium is in flames under the assault of Abaddon's Thirteenth Black Crusade. As the eyes of the Despoiler turn to Cadia, the Celestian Sacresant Aveline prepares for her final mission. She must secure the sanctuary world of Orison VIII and hunt down the Chaos sorcerer who seeks to corrupt it. However, an ancient evil that knows Aveline's name threatens to compromise her mission, endangering even Holy Terra if she cannot defeat it.
