Developed in response to increasingly effective Axis anti-walker tactics, the Hornet represents the next step in Commonwealth light walker design. While the Guardian had proven reliable in urban warfare and difficult terrain, it began to show its limitations as enemy countermeasures evolved. A more heavily protected and better-armed platform became necessary. Drawing inspiration from modern walker concepts, the Hornet features a reinforced and imposing chassis, delivering enhanced durability and a stronger battlefield presence.
Considerably larger and better armoured than its predecessor, the Hornet brings versatile firepower to the frontline. Armed with quad heavy machine guns and a heavy automatic cannon, it excels at suppressing dug-in infantry and engaging light vehicles. Its utility arms add further tactical flexibility, allowing it to clear obstacles, construct improvised defences, and tear apart lightly armoured targets at close range. Lacking dedicated anti-armour weaponry, Hornet units typically operate alongside specialised support elements to counter heavily armoured threats.
This kit contains one resin and metal miniature, faithfully capturing the distinctive profile and imposing silhouette of the Hornet. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, giving hobbyists full freedom to personalise their walker to match their force. Stowage and additional accessories are sold separately.
