Nords: Blooded

Whether it is by fate, chance or simple accident that Blooded receive their gifts, few can deny that they are more than human. Their physical appearance can vary considerably, although most tend towards the massive proportions of their divine ancestors. Many see in them physical gifts and martial prowess, and consider them lucky, without understanding the inner struggle that rages within each of them.

The wild blood of their divine ancestors cannot easily be denied, and they are subject to fits of manic energy and rage almost as often as periods of despair. Their gifts manifest erratically, their senses sharpening until stimuli overwhelm them, while at other times an overactive adrenergic system makes them wildly aggressive and violent. Unable to trust themselves, many Blooded choose the path of the hermit and the wanderer, fearing themselves more than the dangers lurking in the wilds of Mannheim.

More at ease with their bestial side, they often form strong bonds with those who are also marked by divine blood, whatever their own ancestry. Their intuitive understanding of the burdens and struggles they all endure is coupled with the physical strength needed to assert themselves against those who might challenge them.

When a raid is planned, or troops are assembled for battle, cunning Jarls and Kings seek out Blooded in their kingdoms and lure them into their service to lead the wilder elements of their forces. In this way, the Blooded traverse the battlefield like demigods of old, leading a monstrous horde straight into the heart of the enemy forces.
