The Sturmgeschütz III, or StuG III, was a well-armed and armored assault vehicle built on the proven Panzerkampfwagen III chassis. Originally operated by artillery crews as a mobile howitzer, it underwent numerous variants during World War II and was one of the few German armored fighting vehicles to serve on all fronts throughout the war.
With strong frontal armor and a low profile, the StuG III was ideal for ambushes, presenting a difficult target for enemy fire. It was armed with a powerful 75mm gun and carried an MG42 machine gun for close defense, making it highly effective in combat.
Favored by infantry units, the StuGs provided vital support by firing high-explosive shells or taking out enemy tanks. This highly detailed plastic kit can be built as either the StuG III Ausf G assault gun or the 10.5cm Sturmhaubitze infantry support gun. The vehicle is also compatible with Achtung Panzer! tank combat games.
