The A34 Comet marked the peak of British tank design during World War II. Developed as an improvement upon the Cromwell, it was built to directly engage and defeat Germany’s formidable Panther and Tiger tanks. It entered frontline service in late 1944 and saw further deployment during the Korean War. The Comet featured a low silhouette, thick armour, and a powerful 77mm High Velocity gun – a tank-mounted evolution of the famous 17-pounder – giving it excellent firepower and survivability in battle.
In Bolt Action, the Comet is classified as a medium tank but carries a super-heavy anti-tank gun, making it a dangerous threat to enemy armour. Its balance of firepower, speed, and protection makes it a versatile choice for British forces, especially in armoured platoons. It’s equally effective in offensive maneuvers and defensive roles, offering players tactical flexibility on the tabletop.
This vehicle is also compatible with Achtung Panzer!, the close-quarters tank combat game, where it delivers significant late-war firepower to British forces. The box includes one resin and metal A34 Comet tank, a Bolt Action: Third Edition stat card, Achtung Panzer! Tank Datacard and tokens, full-colour waterslide decals, and one Bolt Action order die. Model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
