First entering combat in British service in 1942, the M3 was designed as an interim vehicle while the M4 Sherman was developed and brought into production. Far from a stopgap, it proved to be a dependable and capable tank, offering strong mechanical reliability and impressive firepower, even if its design layout was somewhat dated. The Grant played a key role in the mid-war years and became a distinctive part of British armored forces.
This kit builds the M3 with the British-specification welded turret, known as the “Grant.” In Bolt Action, the M3 is fielded as a Medium Tank with a damage value of 9+, armed with a medium anti-tank gun in the hull, a light anti-tank gun in the turret, and a medium machine gun. You can also bring the Grant to the tabletop in Achtung Panzer!, with its rules provided in the Iron Coffins supplement. Versatile and reliable, the Grant is well-suited to a variety of scenarios and battlefields.
The box includes one plastic M3 Grant medium tank, a decal sheet, a Bolt Action vehicle stat card, and vehicle damage markers. This set provides you with a historically significant and tactically useful model, whether you are recreating battles in the Western Desert, the jungles of Burma, or even defending Britain against a hypothetical invasion.
