Supplied to Great Britain under the Lend-Lease programme, the M4A4 was re-designated as the Sherman V by its new operators. It quickly became the backbone of British and Polish armoured forces, and was also used by Free French units. As the most widely used British tank of the Second World War, the Sherman V played a central role from D-Day through to the final battles in Germany.
Although it had a relatively high profile, which could make it more vulnerable, the Sherman V more than compensated with its mechanical reliability, battlefield durability, and mass availability. Armed with a 75mm gun, it was well-suited for infantry support and suppressing enemy positions. While later German heavy tanks could outmatch it in direct combat, the Sherman remained a reliable and formidable asset in most engagements.
This set includes one hard plastic Sherman V tank, an assembly guide, a Bolt Action stat card, decal sheet, and vehicle damage markers. It can also be used in "Achtung Panzer!" for immersive tank-versus-tank skirmishes. Though designed as a British Sherman V, the model can be fielded as an M4A1, A2, A3, or A4 in US forces as well. Model supplied unassembled and unpainted.
