The Universal Carrier, commonly known as the Bren Carrier, was a versatile, tracked, and armoured vehicle that served in countless roles with British and Commonwealth forces across every theatre of World War II.
Beloved by the troops it supported, it was used to transport infantry to the frontline, evacuate wounded soldiers, deliver supplies and ammunition, and conduct reconnaissance and patrol missions. With over 113,000 units produced in the UK and beyond, it holds the record as the most-produced armoured fighting vehicle in history.
The Universal Carrier provided invaluable service to British and Allied forces throughout the war and was also widely employed by the Soviet Army. No self-respecting British Commonwealth commander would forgo these trusted and dependable carriers to support his steadfast Tommies.
