Flows smoothly through an airbrush and can be thinned with RC701/RC702 High Compatibility Thinner or other thinners designed for lacquer-based paints.
This shade represents the overall color of USMC helicopters from 1977 to 1985 and was one of the colors used in the wraparound scheme applied to USMC helicopters from 1985 to 1993. It also closely matches RAL 6003 (modern RAL 840 HR), one of the camouflage colors used in the German Luftwaffe’s Norm 83 wraparound scheme (Tornado, F-104G, RF-4E, Alpha Jet, etc.) and the Heeresfliegertruppe’s Norm 84 scheme (UH-1D, CH-53G) during the 1980s-1990s.
