Morrow Purple Dip

The size 2 nib is suited to covering a range of miniature surfaces while maintaining a good level of control. Since the paint is applied straight from the marker, there is no need to prepare a brush, wet palette or additional container for this step. The result is a streamlined process that can be particularly useful when painting several models with the same method.

For the strongest contrast, use MORROW PURPLE DIP over a white or light primer. Another option is to prepare the miniature using a Slapchop-style grisaille, establishing highlights and shadows beforehand with black, grey and white. The translucent nature of the Dipping Ink allows these underlying values to remain visible, adding further variation to the colour and helping define the miniature’s sculpted forms.

Shake the marker well before use and apply the paint directly to the surface, distributing it evenly as you work. Avoid repeatedly brushing over areas that have already started to dry. The size 2 nib offers a useful balance between coverage and precision, while a separately available size 1 replacement nib can be fitted when working on smaller details.

Its usefulness also extends beyond the original 6.5 ml fill. Once empty, the marker can be cleaned and refilled for continued use. Suitable refills include Dipping Ink, airbrush paints and other acrylic paints with an appropriate consistency. Thicker formulas can be adjusted using acrylic thinner. Replacement kits with nibs and internal components are available as well, making it possible to maintain the marker and reuse it for different colours, mixes and effects.
