Indigo Blue Dip

The marker’s size 2 nib combines useful coverage with a level of control suited to miniature painting. The paint can be applied straight onto the model, without a brush, wet palette or additional container. This streamlined format is especially convenient when several miniatures need to be processed efficiently, whether working on individual characters or a larger wargaming force.

The underlying surface has a direct influence on the contrast effect. Start with a white or light-coloured primer for a strong result, or incorporate Indigo Blue Dip into a Slapchop workflow. After establishing highlights and shadows with black, grey and white, the translucent Dipping Ink allows those value variations to remain visible beneath the colour, contributing to stronger contrast and definition.

For consistent results, shake the marker thoroughly before applying it. Work directly onto the miniature and distribute the paint evenly, taking care not to repeatedly disturb areas that have already begun to dry. The standard size 2 nib is suited to general coverage, while the separately available size 1 replacement nib provides an alternative for smaller areas requiring greater precision.

Once the original contents are gone, the marker can be given a new role. It can be cleaned, refilled and reused with Dipping Ink, airbrush paints or other acrylic paints with a suitable consistency. Thicker paints can be adjusted with acrylic thinner to obtain the required flow. Replacement kits containing nibs and internal components are also available, allowing the marker to be maintained and reused with new colours, mixes or effects.
